Secure Computing Forum 2017

Date: Thursday, September 21st 2017

Time: 9:00am – 4:30pm

Venue: Aviva Stadium, Lansdowne Road, Dublin 4.

Data Solutions will host its fifth annual Secure Computing Forum on Thursday, 21st September 2017 in the spectacular Presidents Suite at the Aviva Stadium, Lansdowne Road, Dublin 4. As Ireland’s largest IT security event, the forum will be attended by more than 300 IT and business professionals.

As cyber threats increase in sophistication targeting both people and companies, organisations must evolve to remain one step ahead of the threats. Cybercrime has changed the world of enterprise security and how networks and organisations are attacked. These threats, and the cyber-criminals behind them, are experts at remaining hidden from traditional security while exhibiting an intelligence, resiliency and patience never been seen before.

Leading industry experts will focus on key areas including:

  • Securing the Internet of Things (IOT)
  • Fighting Ransomware and Cyber Extortion
  • Making Sense of the EU GDPR
  • A.I. – The Future of Cybersecurity?
  • Cloud Security – Your Data, Your Responsibility

Our keynote speakers will be delving deep into these topics and more throughout the course of the conference. Among our key speakers at the event is Lord David Blunkett, former British Home Secretary and current Chairman of Cyber Essentials Direct Ltd.

Also speaking on the day is crime and cybersecurity journalist and author Misha Glenny. An expert on global organised crime and cyber security, Misha has written a string of books on areas such as The Dark Market and How Hackers are the new Mafia. Using his expert understanding of the minds of hackers and criminals, Misha exposes threats to businesses in light of ever changing technology we are faced with today.

Many more speakers are to be announced in the coming weeks, so be sure to keep an eye on the DataSolutions Twitter page and the SCF Speakers page for updates.

This year’s Secure Computing Forum will be hosted by David Keating, Security Portfolio Manager for DataSolutions. David has a strong technical background and has a great knack for simplifying complex technology solutions to justify why they are required. Having played a key role in delivering the Secure Computing Forum each year since its inception in 2013, this will mark David’s second year as MC of the conference and he is very much looking forward to it!

Attendees will have the opportunity to network with other IT Security and top ranking professionals, ask questions of elite executives on specialist panels, and discuss the latest infosec trends.
